About Edith L Brokaw
LCSW, CSAC
A little bit about me…
I am deeply familiar with what it feels like to question your own worth, to live with a nagging feeling of being inadequate and to hold a pervasive fear of being seen for who you really are. If it wasn’t for the gift of therapy, I might still feel that way today.
Although my approach to therapy is rooted in Gestalt (the whole is more than the sum of its parts), I integrate a variety of therapeutic styles and modalities to accommodate each individual’s process of thinking and feeling.
I earned my bachelor’s degree in Individualized Studies (Holistic Counseling) at George Mason University and a master’s in Clinical Social Work at Virginia Commonwealth University. I spent many years in the sales and advertising industries, and, when I wasn’t working at my day job, I was raising and training dogs. I have a scruffy little dog, Scarlett, who shares my office.
